Business debts are at times very necessary to take, particularly, when paying to suppliers and employees is compulsory, buying of raw material is obligatory and many utility bills are overdue. Most of the times, credit card is used to pay these expanses but paying off credit card bills and getting out of credit card debt is very difficult and if finances are not managed in time, this situation may lead to bankruptcy. Here are few categories of business debts.
- Sole proprietorships: In this type of business debt, all the business in owned by the owner only and if owner fails to pay the debt, the debt-collecting agency can take the charge of his personal assets. Majority of business fall in this category.
- Partnerships: partnerships are of two types, limited and general. In case of general partnerships, all the loans are taken on company’s behalf and all the partners are responsible for paying the loans. In limited partnership, one partner declared as owner whereas all others are only investors, so the owner partner is responsible for paying the debts.
